February 3, I had the pleasure of being an exhibiting my designs at The Closet’s launch on Oxford Road. The Closet is a charity shop run by a group of University of Manchester students helping to support Manchester Mind, a local mental health charity in Manchester. I was asked to create a piece especially for to help raise money on the evening, so I created the rings you see below, inspired by their logo.
The Set Up
The Closet is such a dope space. The intimate environment and amazing clothes make it a must-visit destination on Oxford Road. I felt right at home at the event, especially when I saw a drawing of myself and designs on my stall, drawn by the talented Natasha.
Our most popular items of the night were our Double Rings and mini Africa necklaces. I have to say the Double Rings are one of my favourites! Want to see more? Check out this dope timelapse made by The Closet
This event was an amazing experience! The music was blaring and the atmosphere was electrifying. It is always so much fun to meet new customers, friends, and brands such as Mojo Kojo, Tees on Toast, and The Little Beasties! It was great to introduce A. Monaie Designs to my fellow Manchester students and to show them some of my hobbies!
Thank you to all our friends and supporters who came out to show me love. It was also lovely to meet new supporters as well!
